This year I put in an abstract to speak at the biggest Perl conference in Europe; YAPC:EU. My talk was recently accepted and I am pleased to be able to say I shall be travelling to Romania in late August to share some experiences and thoughts on how we refactor code in my $dayjob.
As with any multi-year/multi-decade software project, we have legacy and new code. The older “legacy” code often is by our own definition “very scary”.
When we visit this scary code we have developed ways and tools to make this both easier and safer. My talk will be covering the approach and tools.
I shall post more about the talk soon, both before and after the event.
